Instrumentation and Electronics/Measurement Technician

This position is a Field Measurement/Automation Technician in the Rock Springs, WY area. This position requires working in a field environment during all seasons of the year; it requires someone who, after training, will be comfortable working alone in this environment in all weather conditions. Daily travel required. Field locations vary and are sometimes up to 100 miles North, South, East and West of Rock Springs.

Primary duties include but are not limited to the following:

- Ability to troubleshoot electrical problems and work under pressure

- Meter testing/calibrations

- Experience with device installation, programming and wiring

- Understanding of power supply systems, control systems and modbus communication

- Inspection and maintenance of meters as needed

- Operate and maintain a portable gas chromatograph and associated sample system

- Be comfortable being witnessed while performing measurement work by parties with interest in measurement.

Schedule and benefits:

- Starting Pay $60,000 - $80,000 annually, DOE

- Work a 4-day week, 10-12 hour shifts, OT often available but not guaranteed, occasional OT work required depending on current workload

Preferred knowledge and experience:

- Diverse prior experience in gas measurement & analysis

- Experience with RTU installation and setup

- Field service experience

- Certificate or degree in electronics & instrumentation or similar

Requirements:

- Must pass a post offer drug test, background check and MVR check

- Legally authorized to work in the United States

- Maintain a valid driver’s license
