We are seeking a detail-oriented Instructional Designer with strong project management skills to join our team!
The Instructional Designer is responsible for applying adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and company standards to create and revise online and classroom training solutions. This includes designing engaging learning experiences that meet business and learner needs.
This role will be assigned to a specific subsidiary of Consumers Energy to support a variety of projects. The designer will collaborate closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) and stakeholders to deliver effective learning solutions.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Execute course development from in-take through launch in the LMS
- Revise, design, and develop eLearn and classroom instructional content
- Launch and test learning content within the LMS
- Generate quarterly reports on itemized training costs for billing purposes
- Create program boards in the LMS, as needed
Strong project management skills are essential for success in this role, which serves as the primary point of contact between Consumers Energy and the subsidiary to ensure streamlined communication and coordination of training initiatives.
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles and the ability to apply instructional design methodologies to develop effective training solutions
- Competency in developing eLearning courses using Articulate Storyline and Rise
- Well-developed writing, research, and editing skills, with familiarity in applying standard style guides
- Proven project management experience, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working within a Learning Management System (LMS)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
A portfolio demonstrating web-based training/eLearn examples is required for consideration for this role.
- 1-3 years’ experience in instructional design and project management.
