Our Temecula office is looking to add professionally minded individuals to our ever-growing, skilled team.
An immediate opening is available for an entry-level to experienced Designer I. If you are experienced in the below duties, we would really like to talk to you!
The Designer I position will contribute to the production of final work order packages and preliminary construction maps utilizing planner redlines, base maps, and exhibits.
- Prepare scaled work order maps using computer aided design software (CAD) such as Autodesk Utility Design (AUD) and Design Manager (DM)
- Draw map(s) using the correct mapping symbols, callouts, decals, proper tie downs, etc.
- Check Planner’s redlines for accuracy and completeness
- Consult with Planners and other planning personnel to prepare design drawings and apply modifications as required
- Complete engineering functions and calculations based on field information and redlines from Planner (i.e., cable pulling, voltage drop & flicker, material input and publishing, etc.)
- Prepare joint pole authorizations based on field information and redline from Planner
- Input customer, project, and billing information (i.e., completes faceplate, verifies allowances, updates labor requirements)
- Learn and master industry systems
- Assist planners with preparing and completing all required forms for work order completion
- Perform assigned responsibilities with moderate supervision
- Adhere to drafting standards
- Ensure all work is routinely backed up and archived
- Other duties as assigned
- Proficiency using AutoCAD drafting software, Civil 3D experience a plus
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; Microsoft Access experience a plus
- Ability to meet competing deadlines
- Organize, prioritize, and perform multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
- Frequently required to stand, walk, talk, hear, and sit
- Frequently required to utilize hand and finger dexterity for company equipment
- Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crawl
- While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate as this may be a remote position.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 10 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, Distance vision, Color vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- This job operates in a professional office or home office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as desktop computers and photocopiers
