This is a paid Summer Engineering Internship Program (late May to early August). As an intern with our Offshore Projects Group (OPG) Installations Engineering, you’ll work with Project Engineers on awarded projects that will be executed offshore over the summer and throughout 2022 utilizing the fleet of Oceaneering Light Construction Vessels.

Your job responsibilities and projects will be based upon your experience and educational background to provide real life application of your classroom knowledge. You’ll work closely with a mentor to ensure your developmental goals are met and that you meet your performance expectations.

- Carries out tasks as assigned by Project Engineers and the Engineering Manager. Tasks would generally be focused on technical issues.

- Responsible for learning and assisting with the installation engineering of subsea hardware utilizing light construction vessels with ROV and Divers.

- Conduct engineering calculations and analysis.

- Calculations will include hand calculations and/or engineering calculation software

- Analysis will include both beam element and dynamic motion analysis

- CAD 2D and 3D drafting of project deliverables.

- Assist in preparing presentations, articles, and technical papers.

- Interface inside and outside a meeting setting with project team members and clients.

- Travel to other worksites such as Morgan City, La and Port Fourchon, La in support of projects.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

- Upcoming 3rd or 4th year undergraduate student at an accredited University, pursuing a degree in Structural, Mechanical, or Ocean Engineering or equivalent.

- Minimum 3.0 GPA.

- Experience with AutoCad and Microsoft Office.

- Experience with Solidworks or equivalent 3D modeling software.

- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

Desired

- Experience with Orca flex, MathCAD, RISA3D or equivalent software.

- Ability to work in a high-performance team on projects with constantly shifting schedules.

Additional Information

This position is Hybrid - Remote and will require commuting to a designated office. Hybrid work schedules are determined by the hiring manager based on business need.
