We are seeking a motivated Inside Sales & Customer Support Representative to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, solving problems, and supporting customers in a technical, fast-paced environment.
You will work directly with utility departments, contractors, and field crews to provide product guidance, process orders, and ensure customers receive the right materials—accurately and on time. You will also support our outside sales team with quote preparation, order entry, and customer follow-up.
- Assist customers via phone, email, and in-person with product questions, pricing, availability, and order placement
- Support six outside sales representatives with quote preparation, order entry, and customer follow-up
- Prepare and process sales orders, quotes, and bid requests with attention to accuracy and detail
- Review bids, quotes, and orders to ensure accurate processing and minimize errors
- Achieve and maintain a deep technical understanding of the product line, its capabilities, and its applicability to different customer applications
- Coordinate with the warehouse team to schedule pickups and deliveries
- Maintain up-to-date customer records and order histories in our internal systems
- Assist with inventory management and communicate with team members regarding customer specifications and project changes
- Assist with packing and shipping orders as needed
- Foster strong customer relationships through reliability, responsiveness, and a commitment to high-quality service
- High school diploma or GED required; college education preferred
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the water utility industry required
- Experience in inside sales, customer service, or distribution (utility, plumbing, construction, or industrial supply preferred)
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Comfortable working with computers, email, and order-entry systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to learn product details, technical concepts, and industry terminology
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks at once
- A team player with a positive, solutions-focused attitude
- Work is performed in an office environment with standard office equipment
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
