Position Summary:
To assist in the managing of the Cooperative’s information systems including the network hardware and software, applications, and other data and voice communications applying management analysis and technical data processing knowledge.
Job Responsibilities:
•End-User Support – Serves as an internal IT help desk in conjunction with URE’s IT service providers. Troubleshoots and resolves issues with IT hardware, software, and networking infrastructure. May need to collaborate or escalate complex problems to the Director of IT or an outside contractor/vendor.
•Network Administration – Assists with the configuration and installation of network infrastructure devices and applications for both IT and OT networks including management of VLANs, VPN, Wi-Fi, and network monitoring.
•Project Management - Leads or assists in IT projects, including planning, execution, and post-implementation review.
•Asset Installation/Configuration – Configures and installs client/server hardware and software for end users. Performs installation/racking of server and network equipment at URE’s data centers and substations.
•User Administration – Performs moves, adds, and changes for Active Directory and Office 365 as directed, maintaining permissions and features.
•Security – Monitors and maintains IT infrastructure security. Ensures client computing security by monitoring health and vulnerabilities. Applies applicable patches and configurations, when necessary, both to endpoint computing devices as well as server and networking infrastructure.
•Cloud Services Management – Assists with the administration and maintenance of cloud-based services and infrastructure, ensuring integration with existing systems.
•Training – Provides applicable training and documentation to new staff. Assists with the development of training and documentation for new initiatives.
•Records Management – Maintains asset inventory and service agreements. Assist Director of IT on the development of IT budgets and standards.
•Must be able to work collaboratively with other departments and employees as required to evaluate and implement new technologies.
•Exercises professional courteous conduct in dealing with the Cooperative’s members/potential members and other employees.
•Maintains a safe and clean working environment and adheres to all policies, procedures, and government regulations.
•Provides support during major outages by assisting in whatever manner necessary as prescribed in the Emergency Outage Plan.
•Assists in achieving a greater degree of teamwork by performing all other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
•A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in information technology, or a related field is required.
•CompTIA A+ and Network+ certification or equivalent is desired.
•Experience in the utility industry is desired. Three years of IT support experience is required.

•Must be willing to learn new software and hardware systems on a continuing basis.
•Must be able to read and comprehend technical manuals and documents.
•Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills.
•Experience in Windows, desktop and server configuration and administration.
•Experience with Microsoft Office 365 administration.
•Client/Server hardware and software configuration and troubleshooting.
•TCP/IP network expertise.
Working Conditions:
Typically, this position will require normal office hours with occasional evening and weekend hours. Some work may be performed in the field or at remote sites. Appropriate attire and a professional demeanor are necessary. Must maintain a valid Ohio driver’s license. Occasional overnight travel will be required for training and meetings.
Equipment Operated:
Must be able to operate personal and network computer equipment, mobile devices, and other standard office equipment.
Physical Effort:
Must be able to perform the activities listed in the position description which include installation of computer and networking related equipment.
