Stasis Drilling Solutions LLC is a privately held oilfield services (OFS) provider headquartered in Houston, TX with operations throughout the lower 48 of the United States.
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled IT Specialist to oversee and manage all aspects of our organization's IT infrastructure. This role requires a proactive individual who can ensure the smooth operation of hardware, software, and network systems while maintaining robust security throughout. The IT Specialist will also be responsible for implementing and managing disaster recovery and backup solutions, securing systems against cyber threats, and managing internal and cloud-based resources including SharePoint and structured data systems.
The individual will also serve as the single point of contact for hardware/software procurement, vendor coordination, and infrastructure documentation. They will work closely with the software development team to support deployment pipelines, cloud environments, and integration tools, ensuring seamless development operations. The ideal candidate should have strong technical depth, critical thinking ability, a security-first mindset, and a commitment to staying updated on emerging technologies to help drive the organization’s IT capabilities forward.
· Provide IT support for operations and development teams at Stasis Drilling Solutions.
· Implement and maintain protection against threats such as DDoS, ransomware, and phishing.
· Prepare and implement IT control transitions across all facilities, starting with HQ.
· Configure and maintain Linux, Windows, and Mac systems, and manage network infrastructure including VPN, firewall, and DNS.
· Develop and lead SharePoint deployment, migration, permissions setup, retention policies, and user training.
· Plan and execute Outlook migration across organization
· Conduct system-wide IT audits covering accounts, backups, licensing, and assets and establish IT operations reporting for audits and leadership visibility
· Monitor and enforce compliance through system patching reports, vulnerability scan schedules, access reviews, and a security baseline.
· Design and maintain hybrid/cloud backup and disaster recovery systems
· Ensure CI/CD pipeline support and cloud-based development tool integration with the software team.
· Support hybrid and Azure workload integration, and standardize software deployment pipelines with full documentation.
· Act as the point of contact for hardware/software procurement and vendor coordination.
· Monitor and adjust system performance, maintain high availability, and troubleshoot issues promptly.
· Maintain structured IT documentation including architecture, licensing, and inventory.
· Demonstrate clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to promptly give and follow directions when working with others.
· Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
· 5+ years of proven experience as an IT Specialist, Systems Administrator, or similar role.
· Strong knowledge of Linux, Windows, and Mac operating systems.
· Proficiency in managing EDR/XDR, firewalls, MFA, and ransomware protection strategies.
· Hands-on experience managing SharePoint and shared file systems, including permissions and retention.
· Familiarity with software development environments and deployment support tools.
· Experience with network infrastructure, including configuration, troubleshooting, VPN, and security.
· Experience with on-prem and cloud-based backup systems and disaster recovery.
· Experience supporting field and industrial hardware systems.
· Strong documentation, inventory, and IT architecture mapping skills.
· Ability to handle system performance monitoring and incident resolution.
· Self-driven and committed to continuous improvement and staying current with technology trends.
· Experience in IT management for operational or industrial environments.
· Working knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) and hybrid infrastructure.
· Familiarity with intrusion detection, log monitoring, and cloud security frameworks.
· Experience deploying and maintaining CI/CD tools and cloud-based dev/test environments.
· Track record of implementing disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
· Collaborative experience supporting software engineering or DevOps teams.
