Industrial Mechanic

Colonial Terminals, Inc. (CTI) is an industry leader in handling and storing liquid and dry bulk products. We own and operate the largest, independent, liquid and dry bulk storage facilities with breakbulk capability in the Southeastern United States. Colonial Terminals, Inc., is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Colonial Group, Inc* .* JOB EXPECTATIONS/DUTIES- The employee will work on a rotating shift which may include a day shift, evening shift, night shift, weekends, holidays and emergency callouts.

- Must have the ability to monitor, troubleshoot and repair conveying, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems as necessary.

- The employee spends a majority of the shift walking along conveying and storage systems monitoring the operation of material handling equipment.

- Some areas are on elevated platforms or below ground and are accessible only by ladder or stairs.

- Some work areas require entry into confined spaces.

- The systems are mainly outdoors and work is performed in various environmental conditions.

- Proper protective equipment (PPE) is required during specific activities

- Dust mask/respirator

- Tyvek suit

- Gloves

- Goggles/safety glasses

- Hard hat

- Fall protection

- Personal flotation device (PFD)

- Hearing protection

- The employee records data, including equipment conditions, temperature and pressure readings.

- Must have the ability to work as part of a high-performance team or as an individual contributor.

- Must practice safety at all times.

- Must meet qualifications detailed below.

Qualifications

- High School Diploma or GED

- Certification in the field is a plus

- Industrial maintenance experience is preferred

- General mechanical skills required.

- Basic knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems

- Understanding of conveying systems

- Screw conveyors

- Belt conveyors

- Bucket elevators

- Fluidized conveyors

- Basic welding skills and use of oxygen/acetylene torch required

- Experienced in operating heavy equipment such as forklift, backhoe and boom truck is beneficial

- Experienced in the proper usage and care of hand and power tools.

- Good Communication Skills are required.

- Must have valid driver’s license, clean driving record and reliable transportation.
