Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for an Industrial Hygienist (IH) opportunity to support an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) project.
- Identify and evaluate workplace health hazards (chemicals, noise, and other exposures).
- Plan and conduct exposure monitoring and review results for regulatory compliance.
- Develop and manage industrial hygiene programs (respiratory protection, hearing conservation, hazard communication).
- Investigate incidents and recommend corrective actions.
- Work with engineers, safety teams, and leadership to implement effective safety controls.
- Prepare clear reports and communicate findings and recommendations.
- Mentor and support junior industrial hygiene staff.
- Support Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) activities on medium-to-large projects.
- Apply health and safety regulations to ensure project and company compliance.
- Develop and review HSE plans, procedures, and project documentation.
- Conduct or support risk assessments, hazard analyses, and environmental studies.
- Promote company HSE standards and maintain knowledge of current policies and regulations.
- Assist with HSE sections of proposals, permits, and project estimates.
- Communicate with clients and project teams to ensure expectations and requirements are met.
- Review project designs and field activities to confirm compliance with company, client, and regulatory standards.
- Analyze safety issues and provide practical recommendations.
- Manage multiple tasks and priorities while meeting deadlines.
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or a related scientific field.
- Four to ten (4-10) years of professional experience in industrial hygiene or a related EHS field.
- Nuclear construction experience and prior experience with the Department of Energy (DOE) or the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA).
- Certification as a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or eligibility to pursue certification.
- Experience in chemical manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Master's degree
