Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Hydrovac Truck Operator to join our team. The Hydrovac Operator will be responsible for operating and maintaining a Hydrovac truck to safely and efficiently excavate using high-pressure water and a vacuum system. This role requires a Class A CDL with Tanker Endorsement, as well as a commitment to safety, professionalism, and quality work.
· Operate and maintain a Hydrovac truck for safe and efficient excavation and vacuuming of soil, mud, and debris.
· Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition.
· Safely and accurately excavate and locate underground utilities using high-pressure water and vacuum technology.
· Transport materials and debris to designated disposal or storage sites.
· Work closely with project managers, crew members, and clients to ensure quality and timely completion of excavation tasks.
· Comply with all safety regulations, environmental requirements, and company policies.
· Maintain accurate daily logs and documentation, including hours of operation and job-specific details.
· Monitor fluid levels, pressure gauges, and other equipment components to ensure efficient operation.
· Assist in routine maintenance and minor repairs of the Hydrovac truck and equipment.
· Participate in training sessions to stay current with safety standards and operational procedures.
· Communicate effectively with team members and clients to ensure all job requirements are met.
· Valid Class A CDL with Tanker Endorsement.
· Proven experience in operating Hydrovac trucks or similar heavy equipment.
· Strong understanding of safety procedures and regulations related to excavation, underground utilities, and hazardous materials.
· Ability to perform basic vehicle inspections and maintenance.
· Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with a team.
· Ability to lift heavy objects and work in physically demanding environments.
· Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and rain.
· Flexibility to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends, when necessary.
· Previous experience with Hydrovac excavation or hydro-excavation projects.
· Knowledge of local and federal transportation laws and regulations.
· Ability to lift and carry equipment and tools up to 50 pounds.
· Ability to work in confined spaces and around heavy equipment.
· Stamina to work long shifts in varying weather conditions.
