Dynamic Well Service is seeking a Hydro Test Technician to join our growing Hydro Testing Division. This position is responsible for performing hydrostatic pressure testing on tubing and oilfield equipment to ensure integrity, safety, and compliance with industry standards. The Hydro Test Technician plays a critical role in maintaining equipment reliability and ensuring customer confidence in tested materials.
This role requires individuals who are safety-focused, mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced oilfield environment.
- Perform hydrostatic pressure testing of tubing and other oilfield equipment according to company procedures and safety standards.
- Properly set up, operate, and monitor hydro test equipment and pumps.
- Inspect tubing and equipment prior to testing for damage, wear, or defects.
- Maintain accurate pressure readings and test documentation during each test cycle.
- Identify and report leaks, failures, or irregularities immediately.
- Assist with rigging up and rigging down hydro test equipment.
- Ensure pumps, gauges, hoses, and fittings are properly installed and functioning.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on hydro testing equipment.
- Keep testing equipment clean, organized, and ready for operation.
- Complete all required hydro test reports and documentation accurately.
- Record test pressures, durations, failures, and pass/fail results.
- Communicate findings with supervisors and operations personnel.
- Ensure all testing documentation meets company and customer requirements.
- Follow all Dynamic Well Service safety policies and procedures.
- Participate in JSAs (Job Safety Analyses) and safety meetings.
- Maintain safe work practices when working with high-pressure systems.
- Utilize proper PPE and hazard awareness during all operations.
- Exercise Stop Work Authority if unsafe conditions are observed.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and hydro testing yard.
- Ensure tubing racks, test bays, and equipment storage areas remain orderly.
- Assist with loading, unloading, and staging tubing for testing.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with high-pressure systems
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Ability to work outdoors in oilfield conditions
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly- Valid driver’s license
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Previous oilfield experience
- Experience with hydrostatic testing or pressure testing equipment
- Knowledge of tubing handling and inspection
- Basic mechanical or equipment maintenance experience
- Outdoor work environment in varying weather conditions
- Exposure to high-pressure equipment and heavy machinery
- Fast-paced oilfield service environment
- Team-oriented work requiring communication and coordination
