Edge Manufacturing, Inc. is a growing cutting tool manufacturer headquartered in Pevely, Missouri with locations worldwide. Edge is an integral part of the agriculture industry that has produced quality band saw blade for the food processing and lumber industry for over 30 years.
As the Human Resources and Safety Manager, you will oversee a variety of HR and safety responsibilities including recruitment oversight, employee relations, safety programs, training, and regulatory compliance. Your role will involve continuous development of HR and safety strategies that align with best practices, while ensuring the well-being of employees and the company's compliance with legal requirements.
· Develop, implement and monitor HR functions, policies and programs. Provide support to management in areas of employment, employee relations, organizational development, training, benefits, compensation, safety, employment law and employee relations.
· Ensure legal compliance throughout Human Resource management
· Develop initiatives to foster a positive work environment, improve employee morale, and promote employee engagement and satisfaction.
· Bridge management and employee relations by improving communication, and addressing employee suggestions, concerns and other issues.
· Investigate incidents and recommend appropriate actions to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale. Advise management and/or employees with course of action.
· Review and approve recommendations for termination to ensure that the progressive disciplinary process is followed.
· Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance
· Provide guidance and oversight as needed during the review process and ongoing coaching to ensure a healthy culture of feedback, growth and development
· Compile HR Metrics information on a monthly basis including turnover rates, track of exit interviews with reasons for separation
· Oversee the course of all leaves of absence
· Lead compliance with OSHA regulations; inspect machinery, equipment and working conditions to ensure compliance with OSHA; maintain OSHA files and support documentation.
· Oversee and administer safety training company wide. This includes ensuring that all employees are properly trained and all corresponding documentation is complete.
· Facilitate safety committee and any other safety related meetings
· Conduct periodic “toolbox” talks to address project specific safety hazards and contribute to implementation of required risk controls
· Conduct job safety analysis (JSAs) to identify and mitigate risks within the manufacturing process and projects.
· Ensure compliance and management of company safety policies (PPE, lock out/tag out, HAZCOM, etc.)
· Oversee emergency response plans, including safety drills and preparedness.
· Work collaboratively with others on investigations to identify root causes of safety incidents and accidents and implement corrective action.
· Foster a proactive safety culture, engaging employees in safety initiatives and maintaining open communication.
· Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on employee relations and conflict resolutions.
· Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills
· Comprehensive knowledge of HR best practices and a strong understanding of employment laws and regulations, and OSHA standards.
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related discipline
· Minimum of 3 years’ experience working within a Human Resources operation.
· Minimum of 1 year in a leadership role
· Minimum of 1 year experience working within a manufacturing safety role.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
