Our Coldwater, MI facility is a key part of that success, and we’re looking for a hands-on HR Manager to join the team.
This is a true “roll up your sleeves” HR Manager role. You’ll lead HR for our Coldwater site, supporting about 120 employees in a high-energy manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer, you’ll own the full HR agenda at the site level — from employee relations and recruiting to compliance and engagement. - Serve as the primary HR partner for site leadership and employees
- Support full employee lifecycle: recruiting, onboarding, engagement, employee relations, performance management, and offboarding
- Ensure compliance with federal and state labor laws (MI focus), plus Elmet policies
- Provide coaching and guidance to managers on employee relations and performance issues
- Lead site-level engagement, recognition, and communication programs
- Support benefits administration at the site (open enrollment, employee communications, resolving issues with providers)
- Partner with centralized payroll to ensure employee data changes are captured accurately
- Coordinate with the corporate HR team on consistency in policies, practices, and initiatives
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and collaboration in a manufacturing setting
- Represent HR in site audits and compliance reviews
- 3–5 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in manufacturing or industrial settings
- Strong knowledge of HR compliance and employment law in Michigan
- Ability to build trust with employees at all levels — from the shop floor to leadership
- Hands-on experience with recruiting, employee relations, and compliance programs
- Comfortable balancing strategic priorities with day-to-day tactical execution
- High energy, strong communication skills, and a problem-solving mindset
