The Human Resources Generalist will assist with moderate to complex human resources matters. Oversee the gathering, collecting, and maintaining documents and records required for electronic HR files, policy development, and employee relations. The Human Resources Generalist will assist in the generation of reports, analysis, and employee-relation investigations, and is responsible for enforcing company policies, procedures and practices. This position supports East Coast teams and offers a hybrid work schedule. The primary work location will be near a Campos site in either the Chicagoland area or an East Coast location.
- Reviews, tracks, and documents in compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
- Reviews background checks, drug screens, and employment eligibility verifications. Identifies variances from accepted guidelines and escalates matters to the Senior HR Director as needed.
- Works with other Human Resources Department staff and various internal stakeholders to investigate and resolve general employee matters.
- Performs complex tasks required to administer and execute human resource policies and programs including but not limited to compensation, overtime pay, leaves; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; random drug testing process, productivity, recognition, and morale.
- Works in collaboration with safety department on drug and alcohol testing requirements, occupational health and safety matters.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the Senior Human Resources Director.
- Works with Compensation & Benefits Administrator on tracking LOAs requests (FMLA / CFRA, PDL, PFL) and assists in completion of state and federal forms.
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Assists in developing company-wide SOPs
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Monitors and updates all the related HR information systems with relevant employee data.
- Assists with preparation of plans, policies, documents, and various reports including but not limited to EEO-1, affirmative action plans, organizational charts, and employee handbooks.
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field is preferred.
- 3-5 years of human resource experience required.
- SHRM-CP plus.
