The Human Resources Generalist reports to the General Manager of Offshore Technical Services (OTS). The HR Generalist is responsible for carrying out a broad range of staff functions within the human resources department. The HR Generalist will provide support and act as a resource for employee relations, and retention, maintenance of policies, and procedures and training requirements and delivery.
Area of Focus:
•Act as the first point of contact for HR related employee concerns and questions;
•Responsible for HR related duties including but not limited to: vacation entitlement and tracking, employment verification, benefits administration, policies and procedures;
•Consult with managers regarding employee turnover, absenteeism, changes in work settings, employee motivation and recognition and other employee related aspects;
•Development of HR programs, processes and polices;
•Manage employee benefits program by assessing benefits needs and trends;
•Maintain and oversee benefits administration and dissemination of benefits information to staff;
•Manage and facilitate employee Performance Management and Professional Development programs;
•Provide training workshops and support to supervisors and employees throughout the process;
•Assists with the establishment of an in-house employee training system;
•Addresses the company's training needs including training needs assessment, new employee orientation, onboarding, management development, and production
•Assist with cross-training, and the measurement of training impact, and training transfer;
•Monitor and evaluate training program’s effectiveness, success and ROI periodically and report on them;
•Assist in the development of request for proposal (RFP) responses and client quotes in regards to candidate pools and costs;
•Oversees the management of the Training Records Management System (Learning Center);
•Monitor the preparing and sending of offer packages;
•Assist in preparing and sending of new employee orientation packages.
Additional Responsibilities:
•Attend career fairs for recruiting and company recognition;
•Compensation, reviews and benefit administration;
•Oversee and manage recruitment and staffing logistics;
•Oversee the employee onboarding and orientation process;
•Other duties as required.
Education and Skills:
•Post-secondary diploma or degree, and/or a Human Resources Certification;
•Excellent management, time-management, and problem-solving skills;
•Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with a focus on Excel, Word and Outlook;
•Thorough knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment law;
•Ability to handle confidential information in a professional and ethical manner;
•Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team-based environment;
•Ability to deal with people diplomatically, professionally and tactfully at all times;
•Understanding of business operations and how HR practices support organizational goals.
Hours of work 9am to 5pm Monday - Friday.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $34.00-$40.00 per hour
