What is the opportunity:
Reporting to the Manager, the Human Resources (HR) Generalist will provide guidance and support on all HR related matters to ESC employees. The Generalist will lead and/or support all end-to-end delivery of HR program, policies, and systems.
What will you do:
•Respond to employee and manager inquiries on a variety of human resources issues and advise on best practices and present solutions.
•Lead and participate in various HR programs and processes. These programs may include recruitment; training and development; compensation; benefits; performance evaluation; performance development; employee wellness; HR administration; employee relations and engagement; diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives
•Advise managers, supervisors, and employees on HR related matters including disability management, compensation, performance management, full cycle recruitment, HR processes and policy application
•Lead the administration of onboarding and offboarding processes including employee orientations, terminations, and exit interviews
•Coordinate the preparation of contractual documents such as offer letters, termination letters, extension letters, and any other documentation related to the employment relationship
•Collaborate with the HR Manager to ensure resources are in place to support Energy Safety Canada’s goals and objectives
•Other duties as required
What you need to succeed:
•Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field
•Certified Professional Human Resource Professional (CPHR) designation is an asset
•5+ years’ experience working in a Human Resources related role, preferably in a generalist capacity
•Proficient in Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Teams
•Experience using Workforce Now software is an asset
•Strong interpersonal skills – able to interact with and communicate with all levels of throughout the organization
•Excellent time management and organizational skills
•Strong oral and written communication skills and previous experience corresponding with a variety of internal and external stakeholders over phone and email in a professional setting
•Customer service skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team and cross functionally
•Attention to detail while handling multiple deliverables and changing priorities
•Ability to always handle confidential information in a professional manner
•Strong understanding of Human Resources practices and relevant employment legislation
•Ability to work independently and make decisions with little supervision
