Horizontal Drill Operator

About the Job:

- Operate Vermeer 20X22 horizontal directional drilling (HDD) rigs with Falcon F2 locating systems for conduit, fiber, and utility installations.

- Read and follow blueprints, bore plans, and job specifications.

- Perform drilling and locating — at least 1 year of hands-on experience in BOTH is required.

- Communicate effectively with your team to ensure safe, efficient, and accurate drilling operations.

- Perform minor equipment maintenance and repairs as needed.

- Keep detailed bore logs and daily job records.

- Ensure operations meet all safety, quality, and company standards.

This is a Full-Time Travel Position!

- Paid travel with company-covered housing.

- Meal per diem provided while on the road.

- Enjoy a 3/1 or 4/1 rotation (3 weeks on, 1 week off OR 4 weeks on, 1 week off).

- Work nationwide bringing critical infrastructure to life!

What You Bring:

- Minimum 1 year experience operating HDD rigs and locating – REQUIRED.

- Hands-on experience with Vermeer 20X22 drills and Falcon F2 locating systems preferred.

- Solid mechanical aptitude — you know your way around a drill and can handle light repairs.

- CDL preferred (but not required) — if you’ve got it, it’s a big plus.

- Ability to read and interpret bore plans, blueprints, and technical documents.

- Team player with excellent communication skills — safety and precision are non-negotiable.

- Physically capable — lift up to 75 lbs. unassisted, crouch, kneel, bend, and work in all types of weather.

- Willing and able to travel full time — this role is 100% on the road.
