The Town of Culpeper is looking for an experienced and customer-focused IT professional to join our Information Technology Department as a Help Desk Technical Administrator. This role is key to ensuring that our employees, systems, and community services run smoothly and securely. The Help Desk Technical Administrator is the go-to resource for day-to-day technology support and system administration. Primary functions include: Installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and upgrading computers, networks, servers, and peripheral devices.Supporting and configuring cellular, wireless, and audiovisual technologies.Acting as the first point of contact for staff IT needs and providing hands-on support.Assessing and delivering end-user training to improve adoption and efficiency.Performing routine LAN/WAN administration and monitoring connectivity.Managing software inventories and access authorizations.Applying IT security best practices to safeguard systems and data. Skills & Qualifications: Strong knowledge of IT systems, networks, and security practices.Hands-on experience with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft servers, and enterprise software.Familiarity with audio-visual and multimedia equipment setup and troubleshooting.Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly, both verbally and in writing.A team-oriented mindset with the ability to work effectively across departments. Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field (or equivalent education and experience).At least 1 year of professional IT experience.Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) certification preferred.
