Job Description

The Heavy Equipment Technician III serves as the shop’s technical lead, providing guidance, structure, and mentoring to technicians while ensuring safe, efficient, high-quality repairs. This role balances advanced hands-on diagnostics and repairs with scheduling, oversight, and team development through strong leadership and example.

Job Requirements

- Safely and competently operate all types/classes of heavy equipment used by the company.

- Diagnose and service regeneration (regen/aftertreatment/DPF/DEF) systems.

- Diagnose complex electrical systems using appropriate tooling and schematics.

- Diagnose hydraulic, fuel, and related powertrain systems.

- Rebuild major components to manufacturer and company standards.

- Test and verify performance of all heavy equipment systems after repair.

- Oversee shop and field operations in the absence of a manager, including technical triage, work assignment, and quality verification.
