Americas Gold & Silver is seeking qualified Heavy Equipment/Diesel Mechanics for the Galena Mine in Wallace, ID.
Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintaining and repairing heavy machinery, with a focus on ensuring optimal performance and safety. This role requires proficiency in reading schematics, using hand tools, and performing electrical repairs. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with other mechanics and technicians to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues efficiently.
Duties
•
Maintain and repair heavy equipment, ensuring all machinery operates safely and efficiently.
•
Read and interpret schematics to diagnose mechanical issues.
•
Use hand tools and power tools to assemble, disassemble, and repair machinery components.
•
Align machinery parts according to specifications to ensure proper function.
•
Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment.
•
Perform heavy lifting tasks as required during repairs and maintenance activities.
Experience
•
Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or similar role is preferred.
•
Familiarity with electrical systems in heavy machinery is a plus.
•
Experience in underground mining is advantageous but not mandatory.
•
Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely and effectively.
•
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
•
A one or two year diesel certificate is preferred but not mandatory.
