We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude and have experience working with various types of heavy machinery. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will work closely with other team members to troubleshoot issues and implement effective solutions.
Duties
•Diagnose mechanical issues in heavy equipment and industrial machinery.
•Perform repairs and maintenance on equipment, including engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems.
•Interpret schematics and technical manuals to understand equipment specifications.
•Conduct routine inspections to identify potential problems before they escalate.
•Assemble parts and components as needed for repairs or replacements.
•Operate heavy equipment to test functionality after repairs are completed.
•Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean work environment.
•Collaborate with other mechanics and technicians on complex repairs.
•Utilize welding skills for fabrication or repair tasks as required.
•Maintain accurate records of services performed on each piece of equipment.
Qualifications
•Proven mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in heavy equipment repair.
•Familiarity with schematics and technical documentation related to machinery.
•Experience with HVAC systems is a plus.
•Basic electrical troubleshooting skills are preferred.
•Knowledge of Caterpillar machinery is advantageous.
•Background in automotive repair is beneficial but not mandatory.
•Experience operating heavy equipment is required for testing purposes post-repair.
•Ability to assemble parts accurately and efficiently.
•Welding skills are desirable for fabrication tasks.
•Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
•Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
