Position Summary
The Health and Safety Support Coordinator at Townsend Company, LLC will be instrumental in supporting the company’s health and safety initiatives. This role involves assisting with driving and motor carrier safety programs, coordinating logistics for training sessions, and providing essential support to the safety team at the company’s headquarters. The Health and Safety Support Coordinator will also collect, sort, and analyze health and safety data to ensure the company’s safety standards are met and continuously improved.
Duties, Responsibilities, and Accountabilities
Essential Functions:
•Driving/Motor Carrier Safety Support
•Assist in coordination and monitoring of driving and motor carrier safety programs
•Help ensure compliance with relevant motor carrier safety regulations
•Support the development and dissemination of training materials related to safe driving practices and motor carrier operations
•Aid in conducting audits, inspections and incident investigations as required
•Training Session Logistics and Support
•Organize logistics for health and safety training sessions, including scheduling, venue booking, and preparation of training materials
•Provide on-the-ground support during training sessions to ensure smooth execution, when necessary
•Assist in compiling and distributing training reports and records
•Company Safety Representation
•Act as a point of contact for the safety department at the company headquarters, ensuring effective communication and coordination of safety activities
•Support the integration of safety initiatives withing the company environment
•Data Collection, Analysis, and Reporting
•Collect, sort, and mage health and safety data, including incident reports. Compliance documentation, safety audit findings.
•Assist in analyzing safety data to identify trends and provide recommendations for improvement
•Prepare and distribute regular reports on safety performance metrics to relevant stakeholders
•Collaborate with safety support professionals, coordinators, and analysts to achieve departmental goals.
•Provide administrative and logistical support to the safety team as needed.
•Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of safety initiatives.
•Regulatory Compliance Support
•Assist in ensuring compliance with OSHA and other relevant health and safety regulations.
•Help maintain accurate records of compliance activities and safety inspections.
•Support the implementation of corrective actions following safety audits and risk assessments.
•Stay informed about best practices and emerging trends in health and safety.
•Contribute to the development and enhancement of safety programs, policies, and procedures.
•Participate in an initiative aimed at improving the company’s safety culture.

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
•Knowledge of OSHA regulations and basic understanding of motor carrier safety
•Strong organizational and communication skills
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, for data management and reporting
•Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
•Knowledge of essential job functions and responsibilities
•Ability to solve problems
•Meet all physical requirements of the position
•Pass all drug and alcohol screens as required by Company policy and, if applicable, required by DOT regulations
•18 years of age or older, or 21 if CDL is required
•Legally authorized to work in the United States
Preferred:
•Associate’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
•Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a health and safety role or similar capacity
•Experience in training coordination or administrative support roles
•Familiarity with ASC Z133 standards
•Previous experience in the utility or tree care industry
