Grounds Foreman

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the Operations Superintendent, the Grounds Maintenance Foreman person will perform a variety of tasks to ensure that the building and grounds are orderly and provide a safe and pleasant environment at all Sharyland Water Supply Corporation facilities.

Responsibilities:

Duties include but are not limited to mowing, edging, fertilizing, weeding, removing dead or unwanted plants. Keeping all water treatment facilities, structures, and offices landscaped and clean from debris including areas outside the compounds such as elevated storage tank areas. Also, keeping all landscaping equipment in proper working order by inspecting and making any necessary needed repairs, such as changing cutting blades, weed eater spools, changing oils, applying lubricants, and all other duties as assigned.

Supervisor Responsibilities:

Supervises grounds maintenance team.

Job Requirements / Qualifications:

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and be insurable

Dependable and cooperative

Preferred:

High School Diploma or equivalent; 5 years of relevant work experience

Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

Equipment Used:

Personal Protective Equipment (e.g., work gloves, chemical gloves, safety glasses and N95 masks), Lawn mower, edger, weed trimmer, tractor mower, company vehicle, haul trailers, dump trailers, john deere tractors, etc.

Working Conditions:

Strenuous walking, standing, pushing, pulling, heavy lifting and carrying, working in extreme weather condition, exposure to dust, working on slippery or uneven walking surfaces.
