Position Overview:

The Foreman will oversee daily operations within the steel mill, ensuring the efficient and safe operation of equipment, staff, and processes. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with heavy equipment, including scrap cranes or excavators, and possess strong leadership and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:

- Supervise and lead a team of operators, technicians, and laborers in the steel mill.

- Monitor and control the operation of heavy equipment, including scrap cranes, excavators, and other machinery.

- Ensure safety procedures are followed at all times to prevent accidents and injuries.

- Perform routine inspections and maintenance of equipment to ensure proper functioning.

- Coordinate and schedule work activities, ensuring the efficient flow of materials and production.

- Provide on-the-job training and guidance to new employees.

- Troubleshoot issues and provide solutions to equipment or process problems.

- Maintain clear communication with management regarding operations, safety, and production.

Requirements:

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a heavy equipment operation, preferably in a steel mill or industrial setting.

- Proven experience operating scrap cranes, excavators, and other heavy machinery.

- Strong leadership and team management skills.

- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in an industrial setting.

- High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional technical training or certifications are a plus.

- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Previous experience in a steel mill or similar industrial environment.

- Crane or excavator operator certifications.

- Familiarity with steel mill operations and equipment maintenance.
