- Perform sanding, grinding, buffing, and polishing to achieve desired finishes on various metal products.
- Examine metal surfaces to identify imperfections and ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards.
- Safely operate and maintain finishing tools, such as grinders, polishers, and sanders.
- Address surface defects, such as scratches, dents, or weld marks, using appropriate techniques.
- Work closely with fabricators, welders, and quality control teams to ensure smooth workflow and product consistency.
- Follow all safety guidelines and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure a safe working environment.
- Future desire to weld in MIG and welding of carbon steel, stainless steel or aluminum of varying thicknesses not required but desirable.
- General knowledge of blueprints.
- Able to use hand tools/grinders/sanders for extended periods of time.
- Knowledge of various welding processes and fixturing design
- Ability and experience working on a team, setting priorities and meeting deadlines.
- Ability to work independently, quickly and accurately with changing priorities.
- Must be detail oriented and thorough with excellent written/verbal communication.
- Action-oriented, customer service-oriented attitude, taking initiative to follow projects and jobs through the production process.
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent,
- Previous experience painting and/or metal finishing preferred
- 1+ years' experience in a metal fabrication/manufacturing environment desirable- Experience working in ISO 9001 certified environment
