National Grid’s Graduate Development Program (GDP) is a year-long development program for recent college graduates who aspire to take on future leadership roles in a dynamic, ever-changing industry. Graduates will shape the future of National Grid. Bringing fresh thinking, new perspectives, and exploring with energy, we’ll give you real responsibility and an opportunity to move with purpose from day one – putting the power to supercharge your career in your hands.

Graduates start their careers at National Grid with an in-depth 3-week in-person Orientation which gives you exposure to all parts of the company, allows you to network with your Graduate cohort, GDP alumni, and senior leaders, and provides you with the opportunity to travel throughout our service territory in the northeast US. Following Orientation, you’ll begin working in full-time position outlined below and take part in ongoing development activities including quarterly development sessions, active mentorship, and a Hackathon Project.

About the Position

Are you ready to dive into the world of data and analytics? As an Associate Data Analyst, you’ll support senior analysts and contribute to exciting projects that help National Grid use data to solve real problems. Our relatively new team is focused on improving asset data quality, performing deep dive analytics against our Snowflake data lake, and creating dynamic dashboards for self-service data-driven decisions. This is a hybrid role that can be based in Northboro or Waltham, MA.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you’ll have an exciting opportunity to help define what our team looks like and be instrumental in helping with much-needed grid updates. Here’s what you’ll be up to:

- Data Collection & Analysis: Assist in gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data to support our projects.

- Model Development: Support senior analysts in developing and implementing analytical models that drive our initiatives.

- Reporting & Presentations: Prepare reports and presentations based on your data analysis to share insights with the team.

- Research Support: Conduct research to back up business decisions and strategies, helping us navigate important discussions, like those with the DPU about battery storage ownership for power outages.

- Collaboration: Work closely with team members to ensure accurate and timely delivery of projects, while also identifying areas where you can plug in and add value.

What You’ll Need

- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field from an accredited institution

- Graduated between May 2025 and June 2026

- Ability to begin the National Grid Graduate Program on June 8, 2026, or July 13, 2026

- Valid driver’s license required with a safe driving history that meets National Grid’s Safe Driver policy

- Work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States (such as sponsorship for an H-1B, TN, O, L, STEM OPT, or other employment-based work authorization)

Salary Range

Northboro or Waltham, MA $67,000 - $79,000 a year

You must reside within our existing footprint, which includes contiguous states (New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island, and Vermont). Our hybrid working approach applies to all colleagues who have a role which has the flexibility to be done hybrid across the National Grid group. Operational requirements mean that not all roles are suitable for hybrid working. Managers are responsible for determining whether a role is conducive to hybrid working. A hybrid worker should also reside within a reasonable, commutable distance to their assigned primary office.
