Graduates start their careers at National Grid with an in-depth 3-week in-person Orientation which gives you exposure to all parts of the company, allows you to network with your Graduate cohort, GDP alumni, and senior leaders, and provides you with the opportunity to travel throughout our service territory in the northeast US. Following Orientation, you’ll begin working in full-time position outlined below and take part in ongoing development activities including quarterly development sessions, active mentorship, and a Hackathon Project.

About the Position

Are you ready to dive into the world of data analytics in gas asset management? As an Associate Data Analyst in Gas Asset Management and Engineering, you’ll be the backbone of our team, supporting the development and maintenance of technology solutions that keep our gas assets running smoothly. Your mission? Gather, process, analyze, and interpret crucial records related to asset data, maintenance, and inspections. By doing this, you’ll help National Grid enhance safety and risk management for our gas assets, including transmission pipelines and distribution networks.

This is a hybrid position that can be based in Syracuse, NY or Melville, NY.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you’ll have an exciting opportunity to support our Gas Asset Management team and contribute to essential projects. Here’s what you’ll be up to:

- Data Review & Analysis: Review and analyze records to interpret and document them into our asset management systems.

- Record Management: Ensure that all records are organized, filed, and secured in various records centers.

- Data Loading: Assist in loading data into various asset management technology systems, including GIS, Maximo, and Synergi Pipeline.

- Condition Assessment: Get inspection records to determine the condition of assets like pipes and load that information into systems like GIS.

- Collaboration: Coordinate with team members and other parts of the Gas Asset Management team to extract relevant information and ensure accurate data entry.

- Reporting: Spend time documenting, summarizing, and building reports to relay important information to the team.

What You’ll Need

- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Business or a related field from an accredited institution

- Graduated between May 2025 and June 2026

- Ability to begin the National Grid Graduate Program on June 8, 2026, or July 13, 2026

- Valid driver’s license required with a safe driving history that meets National Grid’s Safe Driver policy

- Work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States (such as sponsorship for an H-1B, TN, O, L, STEM OPT, or other employment-based work authorization)

- Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS)

Salary Range

Syracuse, NY $61,000 - $72,000 a year

Melville, NY $71,000 - $84,000 a year

You must reside within our existing footprint, which includes contiguous states (New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island, and Vermont). Our hybrid working approach applies to all colleagues who have a role which has the flexibility to be done hybrid across the National Grid group. Operational requirements mean that not all roles are suitable for hybrid working. Managers are responsible for determining whether a role is conducive to hybrid working. A hybrid worker should also reside within a reasonable, commutable distance to their assigned primary office.
