We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Remote Global Trade Compliance Analyst to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring our international trade activities adhere to all applicable laws and regulations. You will enjoy the flexibility of working from home while being a key player in protecting our company from risk and facilitating efficient global operations. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with excellent analytical skills and a deep understanding of import/export compliance. Key Responsibilities:
- Product Classification: Determine and maintain accurate Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) codes, Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCNs), and Country of Origin (COO) designations for our products.
- Denied Party Screening (DPS): Conduct daily screenings of customers, suppliers, and partners against global denied party lists (e.g., OFAC, BIS, DDTC) and investigate potential hits.
- Trade Documentation: Review and validate essential international shipping documents, including commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin to ensure compliance.
- Audit & Recordkeeping: Assist in internal compliance audits and maintain meticulous records in accordance with customs and export regulations (e.g., 19 CFR § 163).
- Process Improvement: Help develop and refine remote-compatible compliance processes, checklists, and knowledge base articles for the team.
- Research & Analysis: Monitor and research changes in international trade laws, sanctions, and free trade agreements (e.g., USMCA) to assess impact on the business.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Provide remote guidance and training to internal teams (Logistics, Procurement, Sales) on trade compliance matters.
- System Management: Utilize our Global Trade Management (GTM) software to ensure data integrity and automate compliance tasks.
What You'll Need to Succeed (Qualifications):
Required:- Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. - Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a trade compliance role with hands-on experience in HTS/ECCN classification and denied party screening.
- Proven experience working successfully in a remote or highly autonomous environment.
- In-depth knowledge of U.S. import (CBP) and export (EAR, ITAR) regulations.
- Exceptional attention to detail and superb analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex regulations clearly to non-experts.
- High level of integrity and discretion when handling sensitive information.
- Proficient with GTM software (e.g., Descartes, Amber Road, Oracle GTM), MS Office Suite, and collaboration tools like Slack or MS Teams.
