General Purpose of Job

This position is responsible for the enforcement of foreign attachment agreements, joint use billing and communication with each vendor to ensure permit and removal requests are processed properly to maintain correct attachment counts. Primary responsibilities also include processing all recorded easements, so they are properly represented in GIS, maintaining all approved municipal annexations so that member tax codes are properly maintained in GIS and the maintenance of feeder maps and circuit modeling exports.

Requirements Education

Geospatial Specialist I & II

- Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent.

- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Geography, computer science or engineering.

Geospatial Specialist III

- Minimum: Bachelors in Geography, computer science or related engineering major.

- Preferred: advanced degree - GIS, geography, engineering or information technology field.

- Job-related experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Experience

Geospatial Specialist I & II

- Minimum: Two (2) to four (4) years of experience working in a GIS environment with mapping responsibilities

- Preferred: Experience with ESRI ArcGIS platform or GE Smallworld

- Preferred: Experience with AutoCAD, FME and SQL preferred

- Preferred: Experience within an electric utility or related industry

Geospatial Specialist III

- Minimum: Four (4) years of experience working with geospatial technologies; GPS collection experience, field inspection audits; Experience with GE Smallworld GIS, Design Manager and PowerOn OMS network circuit builds and/or ArcGIS.

- Preferred: Experience in with ESRI ArcGIS platform or GE Smallworld.

Other Requirements

Geospatial Specialist I, II, & III

- Ability to operate a variety of office equipment, including a personal computer, printers and copy machines, telephone.

- Ability to work irregular hours for assignment completion and flexibility to change scheduling and report to work on short notice during emergency situations.

- Normal work hours will be eight (8) hours Monday through Friday, between 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

- Successful completion of pre-employment background check, physical and drug screen.
