Role Overview
The Geology Consultant will be a subject-matter expert on Datamine’s geology software portfolio (which may include Studio RM, Studio Geo, Studio EM, Studio Mapper, Supervisor, Isatis.neo, Ore Controller, and related tools). This role combines technical expertise and client engagement, working with customers to implement solutions, deliver training, provide technical support, and contribute to pre-sales activities. The consultant will act as a trusted advisor, ensuring clients maximize value from Datamine’s geology solutions across exploration, geological and resource modelling, and production geology workflows.
- Deliver training sessions (remote and on-site) for geologists and technical staff on Datamine’s geology portfolio.
- Develop training materials, documentation, and workflow guides tailored to client needs.
- Assist clients with setup, configuration, and deployment of Datamine geology solutions.
- Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and workflow optimization.
- Collaborate with clients to integrate Datamine software with existing data management and operational systems.
- Support sales teams with technical presentations, software demonstrations, and proof-of-concept projects.
- Advise prospective clients on best-fit solutions to meet exploration and resource modelling requirements.
- Provide input into proposals, RFP responses, and client workshops.
- Stay current on industry best practices, geological modelling workflows, and emerging technology.
- Act as a feedback channel to the product team, contributing to software improvements and feature development.
- Represent Datamine at conferences, webinars, and customer events.
- Education:
Degree in Geology, Geoscience, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Experience:
3–7+ years in applied geology, resource modelling, or mining software consulting.- Strong technical skills in Datamine geology tools is an asset (Studio RM, Studio Geo, Supervisor, Isatis.neo, Ore Controller).
- Experience in training, technical support, or software implementation is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Bilingual (English/French) is an asset
- Ability to manage multiple client projects, travel when required, problem solve, and work independently.
- Consulting mindset, solution-oriented, client-focused, and commercially aware.
- Professional designation (e.g., P.Geo, CPG) or equivalent.
- Experience in both open-pit and underground mining workflows.
- Multilingual capability (English plus French/Spanish) is an advantage.
- Familiarity with related domains (geostatistics, QA/QC, geological databases).
