Mineral Land Management:
Manage Section 18 requests, offset notices, and land relinquishment decisions, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and maximizing land value.
Land Evaluations & Divestitures:
Conduct detailed land evaluations for potential farmin, farmout, or divestiture opportunities. Identify strategic value in existing and prospective land holdings.
Land Sale Assessments:
Analyze our land portfolio in comparison to surrounding assets, providing valuation insights and recommendations, particularly under new land leadership.
Geoscout Operations:
Perform technical geological work and land data analysis using Geoscout, supporting cross-departmental decision-making.
Continuations:
Manage and oversee continuation processes to maintain asset integrity and regulatory compliance.
Commingled Zone Analysis:
Identify water production in commingled zones and recommend water shut-off strategies to enhance productivity and optimize reservoir performance.
Reservoir Pressure Mapping:
Create detailed maps of reservoir pressure and depletion trends, with a focus on complex foothills regions.
Geologic Reservoir Modeling:
Contribute to the development of a reservoir model, modeling for acid gas injection schemes.
Geological Review for Abandonment:
Provide geological input for well abandonment decisions based on uphole potential and long-term field development strategies.
Regulatory Collaboration:
Work closely with BC Energy Regulator (BCER) and Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) on abandonment operations, including geological justifications for porosity identification and cement plug placement.
Handle non-routine abandonment applications and maintain direct communication with BCER geological staff.
Porosity & Pressure Analysis:
Identify and interpret porosity zones and top of cement interactions using pressure and well integrity data.
Play Development:
Design and develop new plays across our land base using integrated datasets; seek innovative funding models and farmout opportunities to advance exploration.
Reserves Support:
Support Proved Undeveloped (PUD) reserves management. Coordinate with internal technical teams and external reserves auditors, track changes, and report to senior leadership.
Production Optimization:
Identify and evaluate opportunities for recompletions, workovers, and production enhancement initiatives to improve asset value.
Offset Evaluations:
Monitor and evaluate competitor (offset) activities and incorporate relevant intelligence into our strategic planning.
Data Integration:
Process and incorporate legacy data and other third-party datasets into internal systems to enhance subsurface understanding.
Well File Management:
Maintain and organize physical and digital well files to support regulatory and operational needs.
Offsite Records Management:
Retrieve and manage offsite geological and engineering records, ensuring data availability for technical reviews and regulatory responses.- Bachelor’s degree in Geology or a related Earth Sciences discipline.
