Are you at your best when you’re restoring critical turbine/generator parts, reading a blueprint, and turning careful measurements into flawless results? If you’re comfortable spending most of your day blending and finishing surfaces—and switching to TIG welding for the remaining time—this role is for you.
- Perform TIG-focused repair and fabrication of turbine and generator components.
- Grind and blend to OEM/customer criteria for approximately 75% of your shift; weld for about 25%.
- Disassemble, inspect, and reassemble components to spec.
- Conduct inspections using precision measurement tools.
- Prep and finish parts, including media blasting.
- Partner with job site managers on schedules and priorities.
- Operate forklifts and cranes safely.
- Maintain a spotless, safe work area and support the broader shop team.- 1+ year of experience preferred; Power Generation familiarity is a plus.
- Ready for significant mandatory overtime during peak workload.
- Skilled with precision measuring instruments; able to interpret blueprints/technical specs.
- Proven ability to execute precise welds on delicate parts with minimal distortion.
- Confident setting up and running welding equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and clear communication (written and verbal).
- A knack for spotting upcoming changes and organizing work to stay efficient.
- Capable of prolonged standing/walking and frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.
- Strict adherence to customer and ARMS safety practices.
- OSHA 10 certification preferred; forklift licensed is a plus.
- High School diploma or GED; excellent communication skills.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to pass drug test and background check.
