Under general supervision, complies with District Generation Balancing and Interchange standards and coordinates District power operations; operates the power SCADA system; complies with Reserve Sharing Group contractual obligations; schedules Independent Power Producers (IPP) generation exports to California Independent System Operatorand complies with North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC), Western Electricity Coordinating Council, (WECC) and IID operating policies, procedures, standards and requirements. Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, economics or engineering and four years of experience in utility dispatching or electrical power systems.
Progressively responsible directly related experience may be substituted for the required education at the ratio of two years of experience for one year of education required in progressively responsible utility dispatching or electrical power system dispatch work experience.
North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Certification, BITO or RO and District Certification required or ability to obtain within six months of employment or promotion period.
