General Worker

First Class Mill Services a subsidiary of D. Martin Enterprises, Inc. seeks hard-working individuals with general manufacturing experience to work in our rapidly growing facility in Michigan City. The MC Shop as part of First Class Mill Services and D. Martin Enterprises makes and services products for the US steel industry.

Job duties include but aren’t limited to:

- Mixing and pouring refractory material into various shapes.

- Assembling products made of bricks.

- Relining furnaces.

- General plant labor and clean-up of production areas

- Operating small equipment

- Occasional forklift driving

- Emptying pallets

Requirements:

- Previous experience in a labor-intensive role preferred

- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks for extended periods of time

- Familiarity with hand tools and power tools

- Strong work ethic and ability to work well in a team environment

- Basic math and measurement skills

Shifts:

- 8-hour shifts

- Possible weekends and over-time

- Possible travel to steel mills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
