The General Supervisor oversees all maintenance planning and execution functions across multiple craft disciplines, ensuring operational reliability, compliance, and alignment with corporate objectives. This role directs maintenance planners, supervisors, and shop personnel while managing budgets, forecasting, and ERP system support. The General Supervisor ensures safe work practices, process safety compliance, and continuous improvement across these maintenance groups. This position requires a thorough understanding of maintenance management and reliability centered maintenance (RCM) best practices and the ability to coordinate and lead cross-functional team efforts to accomplish planned work.
- Lead and manage maintenance planning, fleet and heavy-equipment operations, machine shop, fabrication shop, crane services, and utility crafts.
- Align departmental activities with organizational goals, ensuring effective service delivery, proper staffing, and adherence to budget targets.
- Provide direct performance feedback, coaching, and development for supervisors and maintenance planners.
- Maintain strict compliance with all safety, training, and operational performance standards.
- Monitor, analyze, and report key performance indicators (KPIs) for all maintenance groups.
- Ensure equipment inspections and maintenance activities meet IIAR standards within PSM-regulated facilities.
- Serve as subject matter expert and trainer during companywide ERP migration to Infor M3, providing system guidance and help-desk support.
- Provide oversight of maintenance planning functions including work order processing, scheduling, and equipment repair.
- Demonstrated understanding of CMMS functions to provide oversight of all maintenance planning functions, including:
- Work Request Creation
- Work order management
- Warehouse reservations
- Planned Purchase Orders for all scenarios, including contract work
- Create and manage PMs and the generated work orders
- Manage asset equipment movements and repair
- Provide reports and analysis as required by management
- Manage and generate cost and project management reports for selected projects
- Reliability Centered Maintenance
- Ensure interactions with spare parts and equipment do not introduce defects (mainly transportation and storage)
- Lead efforts in equipment criticality analysis, PM Creation, implementation, and revisions, and maintenance activity selection for specified plant equipment
- Provide material specifications, equipment tolerances, lubrication needs and other equipment requirements in detailed job plans and as needed for other activities
- Ensure work order feedback is accurate, relevant and entered into CMMS
- Lead root cause failure analysis efforts
- Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
- Understand and be able to calculate key performance indicators to measure planning and maintenance efficiency and effectiveness
- Possess reasoning ability to collect information, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to develop capital and expense project requests
- Ability to track project expenditures and provide timely progress reports
- Fluency in a range of communication media – verbal, written, and presentation technologies. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with technicians, tradesmen, supervisors, managers, contract representatives, engineers, and executive management
- Capability of reading and understanding technical documents and drawings
- Skilled in establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships conducive to working in a team environment. Must exhibit a high degree of integrity to establish trust and maintain credibility.

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3–5 years in maintenance planning or supervisory roles within chemical or mineral processing plants.
- Possess a valid driver’s license subject to DMV driving record monitoring
- Requires normal or correctable vision, normal hearing, and manual dexterity
- Lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Climate controlled office environment with moderate noise levels
- Requires up to 20% of work in physical plant areas with exposure to outdoor weather and loud noise
- Occasionally works in wet and humid conditions, near moving mechanical parts, and in elevated places
