General Manager of Production (GMP)

Candidates will be interviewed for the position of General Manager of Production(GMP) of our production facility in Shreveport, LA. This is a "hands-on" position that requires leadership, organization, mechanical and management skills. The ideal candidate will have experience in a production and manufacturing setting, can work in a fast-paced environment and be able to troubleshoot problems and think "outside the box." Must be able to schedule jobs and employees accordingly to maintain a Safe, Quality and Efficient shop.

Job Summary

Manages facility’s personnel, production schedule, materials, and controllable cost. Promotes a work environment based on safety, quality, and efficiency.

Tasks

· Manages facility’s manpower and shift scheduling.

· Manages employee discipline actions including termination.

· Conducts interviews for possible new hire candidates.

· Assigns tasks and responsibilities to facility’s personnel.

· Communicates with Sales, Assets, Employees, and Supervisor to form and achieve goals.

· Sets scheduling for cutting, bending, and deliveries.

· Prints and reviews Nests and drawings.

· Monitors and maintains plate inventory status.

· Maintains and orders facility supplies.

· Trains and test employees in safety policies and shop procedures.

· Assist in all aspects of shop production.

· Assist with weekly and monthly shop maintenance.

· Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.

Requirements

· Basic computer skills.

· Ability to work on equipment and troubleshoot any machinery problems through the advice of tech support.

· Possess the ability to teach and train employees.

· Ability to represent the company professionally through appearance and effective communication with business partners.

· Position requires use of Personal Protective Equipment (Safety glasses, gloves, and steel toe boots).

· Complete training in safety practices, shop procedures, grinding, overhead crane, and forklift.

· Ability to communicate issues and strategies with co-workers and supervisor.

· Ability to use a tape measurement or other measuring devices.

Physical Requirements

· Requires standing, bending, twisting, and repetitive movement.

· Requires using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls.

· Requires lifting and carrying up to 50lbs.

· Requires working in very hot (above 90 F degrees) or very cold (below 32 F degrees) temperatures.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
