General Maintenance Technician

The General Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a broad range of maintenance tasks to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations on the North Slope.

This position will be responsible for driving CCI's Mission, Vision, and Values, a crucial part of the strategic plan to drive success. Essential Duties & Job Functions:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. •

Communicate daily status of current projects to Facility Operations and the O&M Superintendent as necessary to ensure all projects are timely and within company and client standards.

•

Assist others on special project needs, when appropriate.

•

Operating a variety of hand and power tools (buffer/grinders, jigsaw, drills, T-bar, rakes, shovels, etc.) carrying and lifting materials (cribbing, chock blocks, straps, insulation, metal, etc.) for pipeline insulation removal and installation.

•

Perform manual labor insulating, fabricating, installing sheet metal, using shop equipment, erecting scaffolding, etc.

•

Will ensure work scopes are fully defined and proper resources and materials are in place to accomplish goals

•

Required Qualifications:

•

High school diploma or GED

•

NSTC card

•

A valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications:

•

North Slope or Artic work experience

Work Environment:

Position may be exposed to extremely hostile weather conditions at times while working outdoors.

•

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works at the construction site. The employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud.

•

Position may be working with potentially hazardous materials and wastes.

•

The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles in a mechanical shop environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Hearing protection and the use of safety eyewear is required in most working situations.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. A pre-hire post offer Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) will be conducted to determine an employee's ability to perform to the job standard. MOBILITY: Must be able to access all controls and all parts of machinery for service. Must be able to push/pull 50 pounds for 20 feet.

•

LIFTING: Must be able to routinely lift 50 pounds from floor to waist, 30 pounds from waist level to shoulder height and carry 50 pounds for 20 feet.

•

Frequent walking and standing.

•

Occasional keyboard use, sitting, bending, twisting, and reaching.

•

HEARING: Must be able to hear audible safety alarms.

•

VISUAL ACUITY: Must be adequate to perform above listed tasks in a safe manner and take hand signals from ground man or flag man.

•

RANGE OF MOTION: An objective range of motion measurements will be conducted and recorded using a five position and rapid exchange grip strength test during the pre-hire/post offer FCE.
