General Laborer / Stone Handler (Entry Level)

Position Summary

The General Laborer / Stone Handler is an entry-level position responsible for assisting in the handling, sorting, and preparation of natural stone products. The role involves manual labor in a quarry and fabrication environment and supports the production team with stone preparation, packaging, and general yard maintenance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Clean and/or split stone using handheld hammers, wedges, and other basic hand tools

- Sort, stack, and organize stone products on pallets for storage or shipment

- Lift, move, and carry stone materials manually or with basic hand tools such as shovels

- Wrap and prepare pallets for transport and shipping

- Clear finished stone products from work tables and staging areas

- Remove debris and maintain a clean and safe work environment

- Assist other production staff with general labor tasks as needed

- Count, sort, and stack finished materials for packaging and shipment

- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors

Physical Requirements

- Ability to lift and carry up to 100 pounds when necessary

- Ability to perform repetitive lifting, bending, and manual labor throughout the workday

- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

Equipment and Tools

This position primarily uses basic hand tools. The role does not involve operating motorized equipment, explosives, or hazardous chemicals.

Experience and Qualifications

- Entry-level position; prior labor or construction experience is helpful but not required

- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team

- Strong work ethic and reliability required

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
