- Check all plant equipment, including but not limited to compressors, process pumps, heaters, and fresh water systems, by making a yard pass every two hours; check instrument control panel and record all readings to ensure correct ranges of temperatures and pressures.
- Check gas for acceptable levels of H2S; catch weathering test sample of propane to ensure propane meets quality specifications; collect samples of gas, propane, and butane, processes in hot water bath, and analyzes for acceptable vapor pressure.
- Switch production and belly valves on propane, butane, and condensate tanks to prepare product for sale.
- Determine safe and efficient movement of products through pipelines and gas plant, utilizing knowledge of interconnections, pipeline capacities, manifolds, and pumps.
- Watch and listen for malfunctioning equipment and inspects for leaks; report current problems or anticipated problems; remain alert to possibilities of fire and explosion; implement emergency procedures in the event of automatic controls failure.
- Check sight glasses on all tanks, equipment, and machinery to ensure appropriate fluid levels; change charts daily at established time.
- Work under minimal supervision; consult with and provide daily status reports to supervisor.
- Assist the load of customer trucks from propane, butane, and condensate tanks.
- Assist in performing routine and preventive maintenance of machinery, equipment, pumps, generators, compressors, and associated gas plant systems and buildings, including oiling, greasing, cleaning, and mopping.
- Work in rotating shifts and perform Operator duties peculiar to each shift; cross-train to perform duties of Electrician and Mechanic as needed.
- A high school diploma or equivalent education; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Prior oil or gas related work experience.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft software, including Outlook and Word applications.
- English language fluency, verbal and written.
- Acceptable results of a pre-employment background check, credit check and drug/alcohol test.
