Role

The Gas Lift Service Technician position is responsible for assisting in the installation of artificial lift equipment and peripheral devices. The Gas Lift Service Technician optimizes, troubleshoots and implements solutions for our customers’ gas lift solutions and must provide excellent customer service skills inside and outside the organization.

The job duties herein describe essential functions of the position. Additionally, regular attendance and punctuality are essential to the success of the position. The individual should be able to perform these essential functions with or without requested reasonable accommodations.


Essential Functions

- Interpret and/or prepare gas lift designs and prepare and select appropriate equipment for field.

- Provide input as to design criteria for artificial lift equipment.

- Co-ordinate and ensure safe transportation of the equipment from the shop to the well site.

- Conduct pre-job safety meetings with onsite personnel, and select topics as needed.

- Work directly with customers to advise proper procedures to follow for successful installation/retrieval.

- Oversee installation/retrieval of Gas Lift tools, while monitoring equipment and personnel on site for safe, efficient operation.

- Conduct additional safety meetings on site if needed throughout the day.

- Advise customer onsite on progress of job and determine any modifications/deviations to initial procedures.

- Stop work authority to shut down worksite at any time due to safety concerns including, but not limited to improper use of tools/equipment, departures from procedures, or anything else in employee’s discretion.

- Ability to work independently and without supervision.

- Recognize inefficient system performance, analyze potential problems, and recommend/implement solutions.

- Use expertise to consult with customers on ways to optimize system operation.

- Communicate with third party vendors as needed.

- Timely and accurate completion of all associated paperwork, reports, records, and correspondence related to the job.

- Exercise independent judgement, from prior experience, to deviate from initial procedures and tools to adapt during changing conditions.

- Effectively interpret and communicate instructions to other employees, contractors, and field representatives in a professional and respectful manner.

- Promote field sales for Tally’s products and services by maintaining customer relationships, and by encouraging gas lift classes for company personnel.

- Actively maintain a positive and professional working relationship with all crew members and customers.

- Breakdown, test, and complete reports for used equipment.

- Assist in the shop as required.

- Test, repair, and routinely service equipment in the shop.

- Restock shop tools and supplies as needed.

- Assist in keeping shop orderly/organized.

- Provide excellent customer service to clients and to other team members.

- Promote and strictly adhere to all Company HSE policies and practices.

- Conduct all business activities in accordance with the company code of conduct, policies and procedures and all applicable legal requirements.

- Perform other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.


Qualifications & Requirements

- HS/GED

- Valid driver’s license

- 5 years experience in artificial lift, production, completion or similar oilfield operations.

- Strong data entry and reporting skills

- Available after hours/weekends/holidays on periodic basis

- Local travel required, travel outside of state on periodic basis

Work Environment & Physical Demands

- This position requires working primarily in the field in all types of weather conditions. It requires working on rig sites where surface areas are often muddy or slippery. It also requires working around heavy machinery, mechanical equipment with moving parts and electrical equipment as well as exposure to loud noises and contaminants. The employee is regularly required to operate vehicles on company business and drive long distances on company business.
