Description
Main Purpose
Operate medium to heavy forklifts safely and efficiently. Assist in steel yard ass directed by supervisor.
Essential Functions
- Operate and utilize the forklift to pick up and/or move heavy objects and lift to different heights
- Perform rigging duties on occasions when riggers are not available to set-up for certain lifting assignments
- Inspect assigned forklift to ensure that it has proper lubricants, fuel, etc. and to report any problems that will need immediate attention by the mechanic/maintenance department
- Check switches and gears to ensure that equipment operates safely and to report any/or all problems
- Standby in equipment after either lifting personnel or materials into position
- Utilize foot controls and hand controls, along with steering to safety and efficiently operate forklifts
- Perform other duties assigned by supervisor

- Lifting - employees must lift to 25 pounds and occasionally 50-75 pounds
- Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
- Must be able to pass a background check- 1+ year of experience in the Oil and Gas industry operating forklifts
- Forklift Certification preferred
- Highschool diploma or GED
- Rigging tools and equipment
Environmental Conditions
80% to 90% of the work activities are performed outdoors. Individuals will be required to work in changes of temperature, hot, cold, humid, wet, and dry conditions, dust, mud, etc. They may also be exposed to fumes (Paint, paint thinners, diesel, /or gas, etc.)
