HOURS OF OPERATION: Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
OVERTIME: Occasional Saturday 8:00 am – 12:00 pm
The purpose of the Laborer/Forklift Operator position is sorting and shearing catalytic converter products inside the warehouse using a stationary shear, and packaging the final product for shipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating the equipment, handling product, and supporting other warehouse functions to ensure optimal operation of the business.
- Shears catalytic converters according to written or verbal instructions to recover ceramic catalyst components.
- Starts machine, after inspecting the blade and other working parts, and monitors the operation.
- Perform daily preventative measures such as lubricating and cleaning machines, with daily record keeping.
- Lifts work piece manually, positions and secures against guides and stops, then controls the blade to cut.
- Works in a safe and efficient manner to maximize productivity.
- Operate forklift or skid steer - load/unload trucks, move product to and from the shearing station.
- Sort, trim, and separate various types of metals.
- Transfer material from one container or area to another as required.
- Adhere to quality standards set forth by the company.
- Collect, wrap, and stage materials to be shipped for a particular order.
- Identify safety hazards in the workplace.
- Ability to set up and run machinery without supervision.
- Forklift certification/experience considered an asset; however, we will provide training to the right candidate.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
