U.S. Pipe is seeking a Forklift Operator to join our team. The heavy equipment operators are responsible for operating many different types of equipment, including front end loaders, payloaders, excavators, track loaders, backhoes, scrapers, track loaders & track mobiles and other equipment in compliance with the company safety operating policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment to maintain efficient operation. Loads, unloads, lifts, and places various materials using heavy or construction equipment to be transported to designated locations.
- Follow appropriate standard operating procedures as guidelines for operating and maintaining equipment.
- Maintain accurate record keeping.
- Demonstrate continuous efforts to improve operation, streamline work processes and communicate effectively to provide quality customer service.
- Participate in daily/weekly safety meetings.
- Regular, timely attendance to meet customer/company needs in an efficient and effective manner.
- Performs special projects or assignments as directed.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Forklift certification highly desired.
- At least 1 years’ experience of safely operating heavy equipment in an industrial or construction environment.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment.
- Knowledge of light and heavy equipment operation and maintenance.
- Knowledge of basic vehicle inspection and maintenance including tire pressure, checking oil and water levels.
- Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
- The employee will be exposed to the following working conditions: extreme heat and cold, noise, vibration, oils, and atmospheric conditions such as dust, fumes, and metallic particles.
- The employee will be required to perform the following actions regularly: standing, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, talking, seeing, hearing, and sitting.
