Overview

CrossRoads Construction is seeking a dedicated Flagger to ensure safety and smooth traffic flow at construction sites. The ideal candidate will be responsible for directing vehicles and pedestrians, maintaining safety protocols, and assisting with site operations. This role is vital for maintaining a secure work environment and facilitating efficient construction activities. Prior experience with heavy equipment operation or construction site management is highly desirable, but training will be provided for qualified candidates. The position offers full-time employment with paid hours, emphasizing safety and professionalism on every project.

Responsibilities

- Direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic around construction zones using standardized hand signals or flagging devices

- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and construction site protocols

- Communicate clearly with construction crews, drivers, and pedestrians to prevent accidents and delays

- Assist in setting up traffic control devices such as cones, signs, and barriers

- Monitor work zones for potential hazards and report unsafe conditions promptly

- Support other site activities as needed, including assisting with equipment operation or site cleanup when required

Experience

- Construction site experience is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidates

- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation such as dozer, loader operation, backhoe operation, front loader truck, dump truck, grader operation, or utility locating is a plus

- Knowledge of paving procedures and general construction practices is advantageous

- Prior experience working with Caterpillar equipment or in utility locating enhances candidacy

- Candidates should demonstrate strong communication skills, attention to safety details, and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions

This position is essential for maintaining safety standards on busy construction sites while supporting the efficient progression of projects.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
