We are seeking a Fire & Sprinkler Inspection Technician to perform inspection, testing, reporting, and documentation of fire protection and life safety systems, including fire alarm/life safety equipment and water-based fire suppression systems (sprinklers/standpipes). All work is completed in accordance with the Ontario Fire Code (OFC) and applicable NFPA standards.
This is a field-based role involving travel to multiple client sites across the GTA. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, detail-oriented, professional with clients, and confident producing accurate inspection reports and deficiency documentation.
- Inspect, test, and maintain:
- Fire alarm systems
- Portable fire extinguishers
- Emergency lighting and exit signs
- Fire doors and related life safety components
- Complete inspections in compliance with:
- Ontario Fire Code
- NFPA 10 and NFPA 72 (as applicable)
- Accurately document inspection results and deficiencies
- Communicate findings and recommendations to clients and management
- Respond to service calls and re-inspections as required
- Inspect and test:
- Fire sprinkler systems
- Standpipe and hose systems
- Valves, gauges, and alarms
- Fire pumps (inspection/testing support as applicable)
- Perform inspections in accordance with:
- NFPA 25
- Ontario Fire Code
- Conduct flow tests, valve inspections, and impairment management
- Complete detailed inspection reports and identify deficiencies
- Coordinate repairs and follow-up inspections as required
- Follow company safety policies and OHSA requirements at all times
- Maintain accurate service documentation using basic computer/mobile reporting tools
- Travel to multiple client sites as scheduled
- CFAA certification (CFAA Registered Technician) and/or NFPA 25 ITM
- 1–3 years of experience in fire inspection, sprinkler inspection, or fire protection services (preferred)
- Working knowledge of Ontario Fire Code requirements
- Strong understanding of (or ability to learn) applicable standards: NFPA 10, NFPA 72, NFPA 25
- Relevant experience in sprinkler systems, pipefitting, or fire protection (asset)
- Ability to read drawings and system layouts (asset)
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Strong attention to detail and documentation/report-writing skills
- Ability to work independently and professionally with clients
- Valid Ontario driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Physically capable of accessing mechanical rooms, ladders, and confined spaces
- Sprinkler Fitter or related trade background is an asset
