The Financial and Procurement Officer plays a dual role in ensuring financial integrity and procurement efficiency for the Tandem. This position supports strategic sourcing, budget compliance, and contract management, contributing to the success of capital investment projects and operational excellence. The Financial and Procurement Officer defines the procurement strategy for its scope and the objectives to be achieved by ensuring consistency with the R&D procurement strategy.
- Monitor and manage budgets for R&D projects, ensuring alignment with financial targets.
- Oversee financial reporting, cost tracking, and invoice validation against contractual terms.
- Collaborate with the Global R&D controlling to ensure budgetary compliance and timely financial transactions.
- Support audit readiness and contribute to financial structure development for new labs or entities.
- Lead sourcing activities including RFI/RFP/RFQ processes, supplier evaluation, and contract negotiation in cooperation with Calvert and Dofasco procurement teams.
- Ensure procurement activities for the Tandem comply with ArcelorMittal’s policies and legal standards.
- Maintain supplier relationships and performance tracking to ensure quality and timely delivery.
- Manage procurement documentation, including purchase orders, contracts, and evaluation reports.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to assess procurement needs and technical specifications.
- Support ERP and asset management and opex system updates related to procurement.
- Participate in project kick-off meetings and monitor contract execution milestones.
- Manage the reporting for procurement and finance activities
- Carry out strategic analyses with Tandem management
- Propose progress plans and/or simulations to the Leadership Team
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in procurement and financial operations, preferably in R&D or industrial environment.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and manage complex stakeholder relationships.
- Attention to detail and commitment to compliance.
Reports directly to the Tandem CEO with a dotted line to CFO Global R&D and collaborates with the Head of Capex and Purchasing.
