Whether we’re delivering power to millions, leading the rapid growth of renewable energy worldwide, or trading in new areas across the globe, RWE is at the forefront of the energy industry. But we wouldn’t be there without a world-class Finance team.
Underpinning every part of our business and driving efficiency and innovation across RWE, our Finance functions are set to grow and contribute meaningfully to RWE’s overall strategy – that’s why we want you.
As one of our graduates, you will be able to create your own career path across our locations and gain broad exposure while working alongside expert colleagues and building your knowledge. By the end of the two-year program, you will have the ideal foundations to grow, develop, and thrive as a finance professional.
Over the course of two years, you’ll progress through four six-month placements of your own choosing, rotating across the entire RWE Group. Throughout the program, you’ll have the opportunity to take on responsibilities with real impact, and you’ll be able to gain experience in a wide range of areas including:
- Controlling
- Risk Management
- Accounting
- Planning & Reporting
- Investment & Valuation
- Portfolio Management
- Investor Relations
- … and many more
Are you passionate about the energy industry and looking to make an impact with a dynamic, fast-growing business? Want to gain exposure to many different areas of finance, including highly quantitative work? Then you could be just the kind of person we’re looking for! Some relevant experience is useful, but not essential. What you must have is:
- A degree in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a comparable subject area (ideally with a focus on Controlling, Finance, or Accounting)
- Strong analytical skills
- Resilience
- Motivation to take on new challenges whether operating independently or within a team
- A desire to work collaboratively with a curious approach, challenging yourself to find new solutions
- Enthusiasm and drive to develop your skillset and seek out growth opportunities within a supportive team
From here, you’ll have a community of support
At RWE, we have the energy to be inclusive and believe diversity drives success. Reaching your full potential means being able to bring your whole self to work and being respected for the different opinions, strengths, and experiences you bring.
Our graduate programs have been designed to give you the chance to shape your own career path and personal development, with the support you need to succeed. You’ll be assigned a graduate buddy and a senior mentor within your field who can advise you on rotations and introduce you to key people within the business.
We also offer a wide range of development opportunities, including networking events where you’ll meet senior managers and board members. We are committed to developing our Early Careers cohort, encouraging their passion to grow, and helping to develop their skills with their future careers in mind. Our development journey is anchored around a strengths-based program designed specifically for graduates, giving you the chance to shape your own development and experience deeply personalized learning in immersive environments. All this is further complemented by instructor-led training.
And after the program? The only way is up! Most of our graduates continue their careers with us long after their programs have finished. The skills you gain will provide the perfect springboard for your future career.
We aim to promote a workplace that allows people to perform at their best. So, as well as ensuring you’re rewarded for your efforts, we also have a variety of initiatives in place to create a healthy workspace and support your well-being:
