The Regulatory Data Analyst Intern will contribute to conducting research and studies in support of rate designs, cost of service, pricing and tariff filings. This position will also assist in the development of solutions to complex issues facing the electric and natural gas utility industry (Distributed Generation, Renewables, Energy Efficiency, Net Metering, etc.).
This is a summer, May-Aug 2026 Internship in Collinsville, IL with a hybrid work schedule including 3 days per week in the Collinsville office.
Interns will participate in meaningful work activities related to development, maintenance & support and enhancements to Ameren Illinois' electric and gas rates . Interns are assigned a mentor that will guide you through your internship. Coaching and feedback are a key part of your intern experience. You will have the opportunity to work with a talented, experienced Regulatory Staff while completing your work assignments. You will get exposure to the following topics:
- Electric and gas rate structures utilizing sound economic principles.
- Rate impact analyses, and comparisons of rate realizations among utilities.
- Cost of service modeling
- Development of analytical, financial, and operational tools to aid utility personnel in administering the Company’s tariffs and policies.
The intern program provides students with valuable work experience as well as providing Ameren with a source of highly talented candidates for full time positions.
Current student status pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree, in Accounting, Finance, Business, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field from an accredited college or university required. A GPA of 2.5 or above.
In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Good analytical and human relations skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Leadership experience inside and/or outside the classroom
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to articulate clearly
- Creative problem solving and proactive learning
