Provide company and sub-contractor personnel with support and technical assistance for administration of and compliance with company and customer regulatory health safety and environmental requirements. Travel to operating locations is required and frequent overnight stays are necessary. Generally work a 7/7 schedule.
Minimum of 1 years� experience in a similar position or industry. High school diploma or equivalent. Commitment to working safely and participating in all HSE programs. Must have the desire to assist the company in promoting a healthy, incident free workplace. Must be able to communicate with upper management as well as semi-skill laborers to help ensure clear understanding of company HSE guidelines, rules, policy, and procedures. English language skills, excellent communication both written and verbal. Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access. Must possess knowledge and skills in window based computer systems. Ability to read, analyze and interpret common reports. Systematic and disciplined approach to problem-solving. Ability to perform essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodations. Must be able to travel as needed. Other duties and projects as required. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS DESCRIBE ANY PREFERRED EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS, ADDITIONAL TRAINING, CERTIFICATIONS, OR SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE 2 to 4 years� experience in a similar position or industry. College or Associates degree or technical equivalent in Safety or Environmental studies. Industry and/or regulatory courses, certifications and training. Previous Safety or Environmental experience in oil and gas industry. Knowledge of safety, health, and environmental policy and practices functions in the oil and gas sector.
Promote and assist all employees in building and engaging in a proactive safety culture. Assists management in communicating, implementing and clarifying federal - state regulations, HSE/QMS programs, policies and training requirements. Assists facility site leadership with HSE inspections, checklist, audits and behavior based safety compliance requirements. This will include but is not limited to LOTO, Fall Protection, Safety Equipment, Best Practices, JSA�s, Permits and the completion of open items in the Action Log System. Responsible for observing and mentoring employees performing critical and instructional type job tasks, evaluating the performance and the effectiveness using Best Practices, STAR, SOC�s, NM, JSA�s and Safety Tools. This includes stopping the job and educating the workers clarification and correction of the procedure or recommended practice. Assist operations Management in conducting investigations, identifying corrective actions and creating reports for Near Misses, IFO�s, FSA�s and FAP�s. Assist environmental audits and assessments as required to ensure regulatory compliance. Utilizing the DSAIL (Drill Site Action Item Log), record corrective actions resulting from investigations, checklists and audits. Communicate Rig DSAIL to Drilling Superintendent and HSE Supervisor. Ensure site safety and needed support for emergency response. Provide support as company liaison and representative in interactions with contract and customer employees. Provide on-site training to assist operations Management with clarification of policies and procedures, LOTO, Best practices, and perform competency evaluations.
