Field Technician I is accountable for collecting client samples from oil and gas wells and facilities within their assigned region.
- Must comply with Safety Responsibilities explained in the Safety Responsibility Policy (CA-ADMR-S24).
- Maintain confidentiality and impartiality.
- Maintain compliance with the Health, Safety, and Quality Management System requirements (i.e. performing /conducting activities (processes) in compliance with standard operating procedures, standard test methods and quality system procedures).
- Ensure that all safety infractions are reported in a timely manner.
- Contribute to the effectiveness of the Management Systems, including improvement of performance and reduction of nonconformities.
- Receive oilfield sample and log sample details into internal database system
- Maintain a safe, clean efficient workplace.
- Maintain regular communication with Calgary laboratory regarding field sampling and lab analyses requirements
- Perform sample shipping, ensuring transportation regulations of dangerous goods are being followed for shipments out of Fort St. John
- Perform additional duties as requested by senior staff
- Interact with clients to arrange field sampling schedules.
- Responds to client concerns and requests.
- Comply with safety regulations of oilfield clients.
- Perform field analysis and sampling of pressurized hydrocarbon gas and liquid samples and oilfield water samples as per “Field Services Standard Operating Procedures and Forms”.
- Accurately complete field sampling data sheets for all field work
- Travel/work out of town, as required
- Ensures the following regarding assigned field vehicle(s):
- Routine cleaning
- Routine Service
- Ensuring maintenance and repairs performed as and when required
- Secondary diploma or equivalent required.
- 2 years combined related experience and education preferred.
- Must hold a current driver’s license.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Valid driver’s license and a good driving record required
